How many regions does it take to match Auckland’s population? Here’s an interactive to explore the combinations.
I recently came across Flooh Perlot’s impressive visualisation of Austrian election results highlighting the size of Graz. New Zealanders know that Auckland is big, and this is a good way of exploring the issue.
Below you can see circles for the populations of the other 15 regions of New Zealand. Click on them, or click-and-drag a rectangle, to match them up against the population of Auckland region.
